What are commonly referred to as “ashes” are actually primarily processed bone material remaining after cremation. Following cremation, these materials are carefully processed into the fine, sand-like consistency generally referred to as cremated remains. At Tribute Art™, we use the term cremated remains and treat the portion entrusted to us with care throughout the entire process.
Yes. Select Tribute Art™ pieces can incorporate a small portion of cremated remains into the artwork or memorial piece. Products offering this option will clearly indicate it on their product page.
The amount required varies by product. For Embellished Art, the Memorial Kit we send you includes an appropriately sized memorial bag along with instructions outlining the amount needed and how to return it.
For Embellished Art, we send you a Memorial Kit within 1–2 business days of your order. It contains instructions, an appropriately sized memorial bag, and a designated place for the required Cremation Certificate. In Canada, you may choose an eligible Canada Post service. In the United States, you will be instructed to bring the prepared kit to a USPS Post Office and follow USPS requirements for mailing cremated remains internationally, including the required USPS Cremated Remains outer shipping box and applicable Priority Mail Express International service. Journey tracking is included with every Embellished Art order at no additional cost: your kit includes an activated GPS tracker that stays with the package on its journey to Tribute Art™, and you’ll receive a live tracking link to follow that journey. Please do not send cremated remains until you have received your Memorial Kit and instructions from Tribute Art™.
A Cremation Certificate confirms that the cremation has been completed and is generally issued by the crematorium, cremation provider or funeral home. A Death Certificate is an official legal record of a person’s death and is typically used for legal, financial and estate matters. For sending cremated remains to Tribute Art™, we ask you to include a copy of the Cremation Certificate with your shipment.
Cremated remains entrusted to Tribute Art™ are treated with dignity, care, and respect throughout the process. Each shipment is clearly identified and documented, sent in secure packaging, and tracked during transit, and we confirm when the cremated remains arrive. Identification and careful handling procedures are followed from receipt, while the artwork is being created, through to the return of any unused cremated remains with your completed piece.
Only the amount required for the selected memorial will be incorporated. For Embellished Art, any unused cremated remains are returned to you together with your completed artwork. Instructions regarding the required amount and the handling of any remaining portion are included in your Memorial Kit.
This will depend on the piece and artistic process. In many of our artistic applications, the intention is for the cremated remains to become a discreet and meaningful part of the artwork rather than its defining visual feature.
This may be possible for select products. Contact Tribute Art™ before ordering so we can confirm whether your chosen piece can accommodate your wishes.
No. Where incorporation is offered as an option, you can choose whether it is right for you and your family.
